Anyone who knows about me understands that I can't leave the "why of the world alone. I have to know how things are done and what brought them into being. I often doubt that these types of crafts developed through simple epiphany, but through a process of time, trial and error.

Is there a Benefit from Crocheting?
We are now living in a very well developed world. Textile industries have an army of machines at their disposal and the employees skilled to manage this production, but they cannot replace the feeling of genuine individuality that comes from crafts made by the hands of someone who cares. The most important gifts to my spouse and me have been the ones that were made by the giver. They are the gifts that tell you about who the giver is. Just one example is a quilt that my mother made for me when I was born. I used that little quilt until my body grew far too long to keep me under it. We remember the hand-made gift, and crocheting is an avenue we can learn so that our gifts can be special.

Basic crocheting really doesn't take too much skill once you have it down. There is a rhythm that goes with the art. It simply requires the discipline to master it.
